It's no doubt true that most people are facing a giant of some sort each day. You may have heard the saying, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle". This came to my mind recently when someone asked how I was doing. With a big smile pasted on my face, I replied, "Just fine!",which was pretty far from being true.
How often do we all do that? In reality, most of us have 'something' we are dealing with. There's no last chapter from concerns, problems, and troubles while we are here on earth.
Sometimes the giant we are facing at the moment is some kind of fear. The what-ifs can get us crazy. It certainly is no coincidence that the Bible tells us 'don't be afraid', 'fear not', at least 200 times: some say there are 365 verses pertaining to 'do not fear'.
We have been equipped with a toolbox to battle daily giants. We have the sword of the spirit (the Word of God) with its promises and declarations. We have others to come alongside us to aid us in our struggles. We have Jesus' promise to be with us always, and we have the Holy Spirit to guide, direct, and help us with each and every giant we face.
That is awesome, and definitely good news.
