George Washington Carver, whose research brought international fame, was born to slave parents. As a young man he once asked God to tell him all about the universe.
"That's a tall order, George," said God.
"Why don't you ask for something more your size?"
"All right, Lord, tell me about the peanut."
God answered him, and George discovered more than three hundred uses for the peanut, ranging from salad oil to soup.
Small things can lead to miracles, like, for instance, five barley loaves and two fish given by a small boy to Jesus.
