.....choice

Near the end of his life, Joshua reminded Israel that the victories they experienced were not by their own strength but because “the Lord your God is He who has fought for you” Joshua 23:3. Yet he also warned that God expected continued faithfulness; if they turned to other gods and broke His covenant, they would lose His blessing Joshua 23:16. Therefore Joshua placed before the people a clear choice, declaring, “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Joshua 24:15.

That same decision confronts every person today. We must choose whether to follow Christ or to live according to the priorities and idols of this world. There is no neutral position, because Scripture teaches that “whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already” John 3:18. Our response to Jesus determines the direction and destiny of our lives.

Although each person must decide individually, our choices strongly influence those around us, especially our families. Like Joshua, we cannot compel others to follow God, but we can lead them by example and guide them toward Him Deuteronomy 6:6–7. A life devoted to God becomes a testimony that encourages others to seek Him.

Therefore we should not drift through life without purpose. Instead, we must deliberately commit ourselves to God and remain faithful to Him. Each day presents the same challenge Joshua gave Israel—to choose whom we will serve—and those who choose the Lord will find life, blessing, and hope in Him Joshua 24:15
