Our goal is to stay within the boundaries of God's plan for us.
2 Corinthians 10:13 NLT
Recognise your limitations. Nobody's good at everything and
nobody's called to do everything. We
each have defined roles. Paul understood that his calling was not to accomplish
everything or please everyone, but rather to focus on what God had equipped him
to do.
Listen: "Our goal is to stay within the boundaries of God's
plan for us." Why? Because only then can you be successful - as God counts
success!
Satan will try to rob you of the joy of serving by:
(a) getting you to compare yourself with others;
(b) getting you to conform to the expectations of others.
Both are traps.
Why? Because you'll always find somebody who seems to be doing a
better job than you, then you'll become discouraged. Or you'll find someone who
doesn't seem to be as effective as you, then you'll become proud. Either way
you lose the joy of serving.
Listen: "Be sure to do what you should, for then you will
enjoy
the personal satisfaction of having done your work well, and you
won't need to compare yourself to anyone else" (Galatians 6:4 NLT).
Not everyone will understand or agree with your assignment and
your methods. That's okay, just don't let it break your stride.
Paul told Timothy, "Concentrate on doing your best for God,
work you won't be ashamed of" (2 Timothy 2:15 TM).
John Bunyan said, "If my life is fruitless it doesn't
matter who praises me, and if it's fruitful it doesn't matter who criticises
me."
The same goes for you too!
