Those with the longest and most impressive sounding titles are not necessarily those who are most capable! Even in the church, it is often those men and women working quietly "behind the scenes" who are most responsible for a congregation's success. No wonder, then, that Jesus said our goal as Christians is to serve, not to gain a position of prominence.

"But Jesus called them to Himself and said, 'You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.'" (Matthew 20:25-27).

May God bless you in your quest to have the heart of a servant. Though your efforts may not always be appreciated (at work, in the church or elsewhere), they will always be appreciated by God.
